Alex the high-yellow belt

Last night Alex earned his high-yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do. I don't think he was all that confident in himself being able to earn it, but he did a great job (though he needs to learn to stop watching the other kids!). He broke the board with a knife hand.

When he tested for his yellow belt, he did a make-up test during a class. We were not prepared for the testing last night. I thought that he would test during his normal class time. Instead, there were not any normal classes going on and all of the kids from white belt to red belt were testing at one time. We ended up being there for 2 hours!

But, it was a good experience for both of us. Alex got to see what is required for all of the other belts, and I was very impressed by all of the hard work from the kids and the adults who tested. We also got to watch a little demonstration work from the black belts and the son of the owners who is a double black belt. Very impressive!

Wow, this is really great. I am so proud of Alex for sticking with the program and moving up through the belts. As I read it, I need to stay away from that lethal knife hand of his. You go Alex!!!
P.S. get your hair cut.

Love, Noni
